To date, donations from individuals have exceeded £220,000 which is a fantastic response in these very challenging times. We are now using these funds to support work being carried out on Waverley in preparation for the 2021 season.

Part of Waverley’s mighty triple expansion steam engine is being stripped down and dismantled for survey – some replacement parts are currently on order and due to arrive in the coming weeks. So far over £50,000 has been spent on the main engine alone this winter. This is being funded by the Covid-19 Relief Appeal.

We do still need to raise another £130,000 from individuals, in addition we seeking support from other funders and organisations to cover the full cost of recommissioning Waverley for the coming season, but we remain optimistic that with your support we can do it!
