Waverley’s boiler refit took place between January and August 2020 following the successful Boiler Refit Appeal in 2019 which raised £2.3m in just seven months.
This new publication tells the story of the appeal and the boiler refit which returned Waverley to steam. With over 160 images, many of which have never been shared with the public before, all aspects of the refit are documented as a record of the work undertaken to “Save The Waverley”.

All proceeds from the sale of this book will go towards helping to keep the World’s last seagoing paddle steamer in operation.
This new publication shares the inside story of the work undertaken during Waverley’s 2020 boiler refit. The story begins with the press release in May 2019 that announced to the world that Waverley was withdrawn from service. The Boiler Refit Appeal is then documented briefly before the refit is covered extensively.
