Description

Waverley Doon the Watter, Doon the Years is a pictorial journey down the Clyde from Glasgow showing how the river has changed over the past 60 and more years. From the heart of the city at Bridge Wharf, noting the numerous docks and shipyards this title illustrates the changing face of the river Clyde.

Writer Iain Quinn has drawn on several sources to bring this title to print with the images captioned through Iain’s extensive knowledge of Glasgow’s river. The opening chapter, Memories of the 1960s, is written by Derek Crawford and sets the scene of the river and Firth of Clyde as Derek knew it. Waverley’s Chief Engineer, Jamie Shorthouse, has also contributed reviewing the ever changing river given his working life on the Clyde.
