Great news! Waverley’s supporters can now set up a Facebook fundraiser for Waverley on their Facebook profiles. It’s easy to do. Just follow these simple instructions.
1) Click Fundraisers in the left menu of your News Feed. You may need to click “See More”.
2) Click “+ Raise Money”.
3) Select “Nonprofit or Charity.”
4) When it asks you to select a charitable organisation, search for ‘Waverley Excursions’
5) Click Create.
If you’re accessing Facebook from your phone, you may need to start a post on your News Feed and then click on ‘support charity’ at the bottom instead of finding ‘fundraisers’ on the left hand side of your News Feed.
You can also choose to support Waverley through the Amazon Smile program, by setting us as your chosen charity.
Maintenance work has already started on Waverley’s massive steam engine and later this winter we will replace at least one paddle float and some of the wooden decking. Repairs to Waverley’s bow following the incident at Brodick Pier will be covered by insurance when she visits dry dock next spring. Any funds raised by online giving between now and next spring will go towards the winter works programme. In a typical winter we spend £400,000 on maintenance and upkeep of Waverley to keep her paddles turning!
