At the start of 2022 Stuart Craig gave himself a challenge: to get his travelling companion – a small brown Teddy bear – onto all 35 Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac) ferries during the calendar year of 2022.

This is the story of how they got on. As he weaved his way around the CalMac network, in a series of trips during the course of the year, he gazed judgementally at the places he passed through on the way. He linked up his journeys by car, train, bike and, of course ferries, the islands and ports and the people he encountered on his quest.
