Steamship Sir Walter Scott – A Celebration History

£9.50

Steamship Sir Walter Scott celebrates her 125th Year in 2025 having first sailing back in 1900. This publication has been released to celebrate this magnificent milestone and tell the story of her career on Loch Katrine.

Opening Foreword written by Professor Paul Jowitt CBE who recognises this publication as a tribute to the only Victorian steam powered ship in regular passenger service in Scotland.

This easy to read publication picks up the story of steam on Loch Katrine before Sir Walter Scott arrived in 1900. The career of SWS is then told with images showing how her appearance has changed over the years and brings the story up to the present day with the most recent appeal to “Save Our Steamship” when SWS required new boilers to sail again.

Complied and written by Iain Quinn & Colin J Smith.
