The Bristol Channel area is currently experiencing strong easterly winds. Unfortunately the forecast shows these winds increasing in strength on Friday 9th June.
Given sea conditions today (8th June) and taking into account that the wind is forecast to increase in strength the decision has therefore been taken to cancel Waverley’s sailing on Friday 9th June. With easterly winds at over 30mph (guesting higher) Waverley would not be able to berth at Ilfracombe Pier or at Lundy Island.
We do sincerely apologise for having to cancel Waverley’s sailing and the obvious disappointment this will bring, but this decision has been taken with the interest of safety in mind for passengers, crew, and the vessel.
All passengers who have pre-booked will be contacted.
