Thursday May 23

Due to strong northerly winds now being forecast for Thursday 23th May which will affect the Skye area Waverley will not be able to operate the planned sailing to or from Raasay and Portree or along the Skye coastline to Staffin Island.

Waverley departed from Kyle of Lochalsh as planned this morning at 10am, but on passing under the Skye Bridge the sea conditions were found to be unsuitable to continue with the sailing to Raasay and the call at Raasay was therefore cancelled. An alternative cruise in the sheltered waters of Loch Duich, Loch Hourn & Loch Nevis is being offered.

We do sincerely apologise to all those passengers who were booked to board at Raasay and Portree and for any inconvenience caused, but with the forecast and expected wind conditions this is not possible. The decision to amend the sailing has been made in the interest of safety for passengers, crew and the vessel.

Evening Cruise Kyle of Lochalsh to Oban

Given the weather forecast and resulting sea conditions we have taken the decision to cancel the repositioning trip from Kyle to Oban as Waverley may need to take shelter. To ensure our supporters return to Oban as planned we have arranged for a coach to depart from Kyle of Lochalsh at 7pm to take passengers direct to Oban. This service will be operated by West Coast Motors, those supporters wishing to book a place on the coach are kindly requested to book via the Purser on board Waverley.
