Waverley will return to the South Coast this September and operate a variety of sailings from Southampton, Portsmouth, Yarmouth, Poole and Swanage. The first sailing on the South Coast will take place on Friday September 2.
The popular sailing Round the Isle of Wight features on the sailing programme each Tuesday and Saturday where passengers can enjoy viewing the island’s coastline including the famous Needles Rocks and Lighthouse, Freshwater Bay, St Catherine’s Lighthouse and Cowes.
A key highlight of Waverley’s visit will be attending the Bournemouth Air Festival on Sunday September 4 where she will meet the Steamship Shieldhall. Both historic ships will anchor between Bournemouth and Boscombe giving a stunning view of the air festival. For the ultimate steam heritage experience there is the option of combining a cruise on Waverley with the trip on the Swanage Railway.
Kids go FREE on selected sailings including one way trips from Southampton to Portsmouth, sailings from Yarmouth to Swanage and afternoon cruises from Swanage along the Jurassic coast. On many days there are discounts for seniors including the popular special offer “Seniors Bring a Friend HALF FARE”. Full details can be found on the online booking site.
Waverley’s Master commented “I am looking forward to returning Waverley to the South Coast after an absence of four years. Only aboard Waverley can locals and visitors view so much of the Jurassic coastline and Isle of Wight. We look forward to welcoming passengers back aboard the World’s last seagoing paddle steamer for trips along the stunning south coast this September.”
